Wood Science with applications to wood quality improvement for various end-uses
As a wood scientist, my research interest lies in trying to understand and bring to the fore, the relationships of wood properties with major environmental, silvicultural and genetic factors that impact on the quality of wood for various end-uses such as wood fibre products, solid wood products and wood composites. I endeavour to use proven scientific techniques to develop models that can be used to predict wood properties to aid in site-specific forest management as well as increase the efficiency of wood utilisation in wood based industries.
