 Academic and Research Interests

 Forest Management and Project Planning

I am a qualified forester in forest management and planning since 1971. My key areas of interest include Forest management; Forest Law, Policy and Development; Socio-economic surveys; Forest Based Livelihoods; Impact Assessment; Community Based Natural Resources Management; Benefit and Cost sharing mechanisms; Forest Certification, among others. With this experience, I have held very senior positions in Zambia’s Government ascending to Conservator of Forests and at different times seconded to two Parastatals viz, Kawambwa Tea Company and Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO, LTD) as Chief Executive. I have also done several long and short term consultancy works with government and international organizations such as FAO, FINNIDA, UNDP and SIDA. I am currently lecturing Forest Management and Planning, Forest Fires, Forest Law and Policy. I am also supervising several students in various research projects.
