Objectives of EEASA 2010

The Conference shall pursue the following objectives.

  1. To review current policies and regulatory frameworks and instruments for curriculum, teaching, research, and sustainable management and utilisation of resources in the region.
  2. To share experiences and to reflect upon what researchers and practitioners across the SADC region are doing in response to the pressing sustainability issues of the region.
  3. To share experiences and draw lessons from the key sectors of industry, energy, agriculture and food security, water, health, and others, for building sustainable societies in the region.
  4. To highlight local and national environmental challenges and initiatives to research and mitigate these challenges.
  5. To provide examples of good EE/ESD practices for inclusion in the 2nd DESD global monitoring and evaluation report.
