Sub-themes of the Conference

This regional conference will focus on sub-themes that reflect the most pressing sustainability issues in the region including what lessons to learn about dealing with the prevalence of poverty and vulnerability in the region. This poverty and vulnerability is worsened by global warming, climate change, the global economic crisis, and poor health worsened by poverty and the scourge of new viral diseases including HIV-AIDS, bird flu, and swine flu. What lessons are we learning and what processes are we engaged in to address these threats to our very existence as a human race? This requires us to reflect upon completed, ongoing, and proposed EE/ESD projects to draw lessons for a sustainable world around the main theme and its ten (10) sub-themes. EEASA 2010 shall tackle the theme and the sub-themes from the perspective of educators, practitioners, and researchers working in formal, informal, and non-formal sectors of education and development. The theme and the sub-themes shall be interrogated taking into account lessons and experiences in all forms and levels of education including early childhood, basic education, and tertiary and higher education.
