The Institute has formal links with the University of Peace; the Addis Ababa University (Institute of Peace and Security Studies). It also has working arrangements with Lubumbashi University; Mulungushi University; the School of Government at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa; Kings College in London; Cranfield University. Other working arrangements are with the Department of Peace and Security at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; International Conference on the Great Lakes Region and the Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre for Democracy and Good Governance; the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation in Uppsala; Institute of Peace, Leadership and Governance at Africa University, Mutare, Zimbabwe; and the SADC Regional Peace Keeping and Training Centre (RPTC) in Harare, Zimbabwe. Other working arrangements include those with Universities of Bochum in Germany; Chancellor College in Zomba, Malawi; University of Botswana; and University of Nairobi, Kenya. The working arrangements are expected to be formalized in the near future.
The Institute is currently developing other links with African and non-African universities and institutions such as University of Ibadan in Nigeria, the Centre for Security Studies at Mzuzu and Osaka University in Japan.
