Restructuring of Schools

Further to the Senate decision of 24th April 2008, two new Schools are being created by way of reorganization of departments in the Schools of Technology, Built Environment and Business as indicated hereinafter.  Pursuant to the forestated, the School of Technology will cease to exist. The new schools are as follows:

1. School of Engineering

   Departments:
   
   Electrical Engineering
   Mechanical Engineering
   Civil Engineering (transferred from SBE)
   Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
   Process Engineering (Production Management; transferred from SB)

2. School of Mines and Mineral Sciences

   Departments:
   
   Metallurgy
   Mining Engineering
   Surveying & Geology
   Chemical Engineering
   Environmental Engineering
   
   The Department of Computer Science is being transferred to the School of Mathematics and Natural Resources.
