School of Natural Resources
Background
The School of Natural Resources started operating in 1995 as the fourth school of the Copperbelt University with the vision of offering degrees in Forestry, Wood Science, Wildlife Management and Fisheries Management.
The School with the first student intake for a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in January, 1996. the Other programmes, BSc-Wood Science and Technology commenced in 2002
Mission of the School
The mission of
the School is to produce professionally trained human resource in Zambia and elsewhere in Africa to effectively manage forest and forestry related resources; Wildlife and Fisheries resources.
The School of Forestry and Wood Science has been set up top address itself to this problem by training and producing adquately equipped professionals in forestry, wood science technology, wildlife management and fisheries management.
Besides teaching, the other objectives of the School are to carryout research, extension and consultancy in forestry, wildlife, fisherise and to provide community related services in line with the stated objectives of the school
