Computer Center
The role of the Computer Center at the Copperbelt University is to direct, manage, strategize and develop the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) at the university to support teaching and learning, research outreach and professional services as well as enhance internal administrative efficiency.

The aim is to provide a wide range of ICTComputer Centerservices to all members of staff and students (and eventually to the external community).

This implies installation and support of necessary ICT infrastructure and provision of technical skills to enable full use of installed facilities. The department supports a variety of business application software, databases, faculty-specific packages and operating systems. It also develops and supports software for use at the university. It also provides front end support to all staff and students on the use of the available facilities and solutions to problems encountered by users.

Main Computer Lab
The computer center is also responsible for the installation, maintenance and support of all computers and communication infrastructure. These include servers, application specific workstations, PCs, network and communication equipment (such as telephones, radios etc). Installations of a campus-wide network that will support the university's intranet and external gateway to access the internet at a faster rate are currently underway. Furthermore, apart from the main computer lab being setup in the former staff canteen, computer labs will be setup in all schools to allow for easy access to I.T. facilities and hence easy access and dissemination of local and global information
