It is also the responsibility of CBUHS to provide high quality health care to employees and their dependants so that valuable man-hours are not lost through illness

The Medical Officer and the Clinical Officers are in attendance between 8:00 hours and 16:30 hours on week days and between 8:00 hours and 10:00 hours on Sturdays, and Public holidays. At any other time, one nurse is always on duty and could summon the Medical Officer on call if needed

Anti-AIDS Activities

The University Health Services is involved in Anti-Aids Activities and Community outreach (home visits).  The Anti-Aids activities are two pronged:  the distribution of Anti-Aids education materials and the free distribution of condoms during medical consultation in various clinics of the service.  The purpose of the community outreach programme is to follow up those patients requiring intensive health education and home based care.  Cases for these visits are usually picked up in the various clinics and the visits are arranged for Friday afternoons. The clinic also runs an Anti-Aids project in conjunction with the Zambia Prisons Service (In But Free).
